Buenos días! Buongiorno! Good morning! Bonjour!
I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you.
And I think to myself what a wonderful world... If we save animals, and take good care of plants, then we can have a wonderful world that we can live in. I don't want animals to die or go extinct, so if we all want peace, we had to save what we have now to make it better than it is. Let's not let it go to waste, let's not litter, and take care of the sea also. Let's all have peace.
The designs are shallow lines made in the ground by removing the reddish pebbles. Hundreds are simple lines or geometric shapes; more than 70 are zoomorphic designs of animals such as birds, fish, llamas, jaguars, monkeys, or human figures. Other designs include shapes such as trees and flowers. The largest figures are over 200 m (660 ft) across. Scholars differ in interpreting the purpose of the designs, but in general, they ascribe religious significance to them.
Due to its isolation and to the dry, windless, and stable climate of the plateau, the lines have mostly been naturally preserved.
Easter Island was named such because it was discovered in the 1600s on Easter Sunday. The mysterious moai are all carved from basalt, excavated right on the island. Many of the colossal stone figures have been restored, but nobody knows why they were built in the first place
